Flushing scheduled in Sistersville, Paden City

The Sistersville Mayor’s Office would like to inform residents in Sistersville that the water department will begin a mandatory flushing action of all distribution lines and hydrants in the city.

This flushing program will be conducted every October and April with the first initial flushing to be performed during the week of October, 8.

This procedure will help in ensuring properly working equipment and the quality of delivery and product.

Residents may experience temporary interruptions and discoloration with their services and are asked for their patience while these actions are completed.

In Paden City, the water department will be flushing fire hydrants on the following days:

Monday, Oct. 15 north of Main Street and west side of W.Va. 2; Tuesday, Oct. 16 south of Main Street and west side of W.Va. 2; Wednesday, Oct. 17 north of Main Street and east side of W.Va. 2; and Thursday, Oct. 18 south of Main Street and east side of W.Va. 2.

Please do not wash cloths on the date hydrant flushing is scheduled for your area. If you have brown or discolored water, let the water run until it becomes clear.
