Nottingham forgoes trial

Timothy Nottingham, indicted in October, 2011, for several felony and misdemeanor crimes concerning property in Tyler County, made a last minute decision to forego a jury trial in Tyler County Circuit Court last week and pleaded to the following charges:
Count 1 Burglary (felony) of the Paul Southerly residence (possible penalty 1 – 5 years0: Count 4 Grand Larceny (felony) of Harry Strudwick residence (March 2011) possible penalty 1 – 10 years; Count 6, 8 and 14 misdemeanor petit larceny (Mary Moss property, Jerry Walters property, Gary and Karen Lancaster property); and Count 16 Grand larceny (felony) of Larry Rice property (possible penalty, 1 1-10 years).
Nottingham, who was scheduled to go to trial, pleaded to the charges with no agreement last Wednesday. It was noted by the prosecution in an earlier hearing that nearly 30 witnesses for the prosecution were available should the matter be heard. A statement made by Nottingham to law enforcement concerning the crimes was stipulated to by the defendant in an earlier proceeding, as well.
Sentencing will be held at a later date.
