Early voting slated
Early voting for the May 8 Primary Election will begin Wednesday, April 25.
Per regulations set forth by the Secretary of State’s Office, the regular period of Early 13 days before the election and continues until three days before the election. Voting is available at the Tyler County Courthouse in Tyler County begin next Wednesday and will run through Saturday, May 5. Voters may take advantage of Early Voting Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m., with the exception of Thursday, May 3. On that date, the County Clerk’s Office will observe extended hours, remaining open until 6 p.m.
Early voting will also be available Saturday, April 28 and Saturday, May 5 from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m.
On Election Day, all ballots cast during this time will be counted with other ballots from Absentee Voting and Election Day polling locations.
The last day to register to vote in the upcoming election is Tuesday, April 17. Voters may register in-person at the Tyler County Courthouse. To register, voters must bring proof of physical address (drivers license; utility bill; bank statement; paycheck; or other government document).
