Egg hunts and bunnies headline the holiday

As the local communities make plans to celebrate the upcoming Easter holiday, area churches and other groups have scheduled the following events:

* Easter Egg Hunt, April 6; The Friendly Lions Club will sponsor an Easter Egg Hunt on Friday, April 6, 2012 at 2 p.m. The Hunt will be held at the Friendly Community Center (old Friendly School Gym) in Friendly. All children in the Friendly area are welcome!

* Middlebourne Easter Celebration, April 7; The Middlebourne Easter Celebration will be held Saturday, April 7, at 11 a.m. on the Tyler Consolidated High School soccer field on Dodd St.

The Easter Bunny will give out treat bags to the first 200 children to visit him. There will also be an Easter Bonnet and Cap contest, followed by the egg hunt.

This event is sponsored by the Town of Middlebourne and the Stealy-Greene Foundation. All questions can be directed to 304-758-5181.

* Easter Egg Hunt sponsored by the Sistersville Community Service Organization will be held in Sistersville on April 7.

An Easter egg hunt will be held at the Sistersville City Park on April 7 at 11:30 a.m. with the Easter Bunny on hand to entertain the children.

Age groups eligible to participate include: pre-school and kindergarten; first, second and third graders; and four and fifth graders. Three prizes will be given out for each group with one large prize presented overall. Parents are invited to bring their camera’s and get pictures of their children/family with the Easter Bunny.

* Easter Bunny/Alumni basketball games, April 7 – The Easter Bunny will be on hand for photos during the Tyler Consolidated High School alumni basketball games from 4-8 p.m., Friday, April 7. Members of the community are invited to bring their cameras and join the fun while celebrating the holiday.
