By Staff | Mar 28, 2012

When the dust settled after the hotly contested Sistersville mayoral election, David B. Fox was the clear winner.

The unofficial totals for the mayor’s race were: Fox, 171; Bill Rice, 158; and Mark Walker, 15.

Other contested races existed in the 2nd and 4th Wards, where Mitch Corley and Julie Schleier were elected to vacant City Council seats, respectively. The unofficial totals in those races were: 2nd Ward, Corley, 66 and Anne Munoz, 39; 4th Ward, Schleier, 50 and Steven Wayne, 41.

Running unopposed for the remaining City Council seats were Curtis Heintzman, 1st Ward (61 votes); Jason Hood, 3rd Ward (57 votes); and Dave Dietrich, 4th Ward (76 votes).

A canvass is scheduled to be held at 7 p.m. tonight to certify the resuls.
