Santa Claus is coming to town

Santa Claus will greet children at the Gaslight Theater in Sistersville Friday evening and at the Middlebourne Fire Hall on Saturday morning.

The Annual Sistersville Christmas Parade sponsored by the Sistersville Community Service Organization will be held on Dec. 2. The parade will travel from Riverside Drive up Wells Street.

The theme of this year’s parade will be “Winter Wonderland.”

Cash prizes will be awarded, with winning parade entries receiving $50 for first place, and second through fourth place, $25 each. Local groups, organizations and businesses are encouraged to participate in the parade and can contact Sistersville Community Service Organization President, Barbara Vincent at 304-652-2939 or Vice President, Carmen Silliman at 304-652-2392 for more information.

The honor of Parade Marshal has been given to the Sistersville Volunteer Fire Dept.

Parade goers are reminded that Santa Claus will greet children at the Gaslight Theater on Wells Street immediately following the parade.

A change in the parade line-up has been made this year due to road construction at the city park. Parade entries will line up on Riverside Drive, near the Little Sister Oil Well at 6:30 p.m.

The Middlebourne Christmas parade will be held Saturday, Dec. 3 at 11a.m.

This year’s theme will be “The Magic of Christmas”.

Any club, origanization or individual who would like to enter is asked to call 304-758-5181 or 304-758-4376.

The parade marshals for the Middlebourne Christmas parade will be Donna and Tim Aikens. Tim has worked at the Union Bank for 26 years and served as president at the Middlebourne office for the past 9 years. Donna volunteers for hospice doing fund raising, the hospice tree at the Union Bank and the backpack program at the church.

Tim and Donna have lived in Middlebourne for the past two years and attend the Middlebourne United Methodist Church.

They support the FFA, 4-H, and senior center.

Santa Claus will be at the Middlebourne Fire Hall immediately following the parade.
