Police search for children
Two area children, Joshua Phillips and Sarah Howard – ages six and seven – have been missing for several days. Police suspect the children’s mother, Jessica Seckman, and her husband, Joey Seckman, of absconding with the children out of state.
They were last known to be driving a burnt orange, soft-topped Chevrolet Tracker with WV license plate DHK158.
Child Protective Services was conducting an investigation based on allegations of child neglect/abuse when the couple apparently fled Tyler County.
According to a warrant issued by Tyler County Magistrate John Roberts, the father of the female child has filed a criminal complaint, which claims he called Arthur I. Boreman Elementary School on Friday, Sept. 15, to make arrangements to pick up his daughter. He was informed the child was not in school.
The father then drove to an arranged meeting place for purposes of picking up his daughter for visitation to no avail, and was advised by the child’s mother his daughter would not be available for visitation.
The father of the child has received no word as to the whereabouts of his daughter to date.
Charges have been filed for misdemeanor child concealment.
The matter is currently under investigation by the West Virginia State Police.
