Ptlm. Alex Herrick

The newest member of the Sistersville Police Department is Ptlm. Alex Herrick of New Martinsville.

Herrick, a 2006 Magnolia High School graduate, also attended Fairmont State University for three years, majoring in Business Management. This is his first job in law enforcement.

“When I was in school, I had many friends who were police officers. It got me interested in pursuing a career in the field,” said Herrick. “I first applied in Wetzel County, and when I learned the Sistersville Police Dept. was hiring, I also applied with them.”

Herrick completed the interview and hiring process and began his new position Monday.

“I want to contribute to the city, and be helpful in the community,” Herrick explained. “I’m a friendly person, I like working with kids, and I’m willing to help anyone in need.”

He is son of Matt and Kim Herrick.
