CLOTHING GIVEAWAY – A clothing giveaway will be held in the basement of theFirstChristian Church, S. Wells St., Sistersville, on Friday, July 15, 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. We will have summer clothing and shoes for children and adults. Please no resellers -this is for those who need clothing for personal use. Any questions, please call 652-7891.

COMMUNITY PICNIC – The New Martinsville United Methodist Church is sponsoring afree Community Picnic atLewis Wetzel Park, New Martinsville, WVon Friday, July 15. We will be serving hot dogs and refreshments at the shelter beginning at 6:30 p.m. There will be free swimming at the pool from 7-9 p.m. For those not interested in swimming, there will be games and fun at the shelter.This is an event forthe entire community regardlessof which church you attend, or whether or not youattend church. WILLIAMSON BENEFIT – A group will be pumping gas every Friday at the Sistersville Par Mar to collect donations for Vickie Willamson. She was recently diagnosed with cancer and must undergo chemotherapy and radiation treatments. Proceeds will help offset travel expenses.

VENDOR’S FAIR – A vendor’s fair will be held in front of the Wells Inn in Sistersville every Sunday through August. Crafts, direct sales, artisans, baked goods, farmer’s market, etc.

ICE CREAM DAY – On Monday, July 18, in celebration of National Ice Cream Day, The Tyler County Courthouse will be sponsoring Sundae Monday from 11:30 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. Hot dogs and ice cream will be available. All proceeds benefit the “Dollars For Dean” campaign.

HOLYLAND PRESENTATION – Dr. Amanda Nichols will provide a tour of the Holyland via pictures and a presentation at the First Baptist Church. The event is open to anyone and will start at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, July 19 in the fellowship hall. Refreshments will be served afterwards.

MENDED HEARTS MEETING – Mended Hearts will meet July 20 at noon at the Wells Inn; Speaker, Jason Snider, PA-C, “The Benefits of Diet and Exercise.” Participants responsible for lunch. Question, contact Diana Rice 304-447-2454.

VETERANS CLINIC – The VA Community & Rural Health Care Program will be hosting a clinic at VFW #6327 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. in Sistersville Wednesday, July 20. All Veterans are encouraged to take advantage of this unique healthcare opportunity.

SUB SALE -Sistersville American Legion Auxiliary is holding a Sub Sale Friday, June 22. Italian, turkey or ham subs available. Pre order and pay – fresh-made subs will be ready 11 a.m. Cost of subs, $4 each. Large orders can be delivered. Call ahead to place order at 304-652-1543, 771-7378, or 771-5186.

COMMUNITY DINNER/SING – A community dinner/gospel sing, sponsored by the Alvy United Methodist Church, will be held July 23 at 6 p.m. at the Alvy Community Building. Musicians 23 Special Bluegrass Band, from Center Point, will be performing. A collection will be taken, proceeds going to the gospel group. Meat, bread, drinks and utensils will be provided. Bring a covered dish and join us for some good food and excellent music.

2/68 AUTHORITY MEETING – The WV Route 2 and Interstate 68 Authority will meet on Monday, July 25 at the Wetzel County Hospital, New Martinsville, WV. The public is cordially invited to attend this meeting; the meeting will begin at 6 p.m. Representatives from the WV Department of Transportation will attend this meeting to discuss current and future plans for construction activities along Route 2 and Interstate 68.

LEGACY RUN – The American Legion Riders of Sistersville Post 67 will host a Legacy Run on Saturday, July 30 in memory of Brian Reed, past post commander and American Legion Rider. The run will start will start from the post. First bike out at 11 a.m.; last bike out at noon. Last bike in at 5:30 p.m. Cost: $10 per person. Food will be available and a 50/50 drawing will be held. BONNER-BROWN BENEFIT – A benefit will be held July 30 from 4 p.m. – ?, at the Shriner’s Club in Sistersville, for Amanda Bonner-Brown, diagnosed with stage 2 breast cancer. Dinner, dance, raffles, silent auction, 50/50 drawing, cornhole tournament and more!
