Board honors teachers, retirees

2011 TEACHERS OF THE YEAR — Michelle Beagle, Tyler County Preschool Center; J.C. Kimble, TCHS; Merritt Grimes, SES; and Matt Jennings, AIB. 

The Tyler County Board of Education recognized teachers and staff members at their most recent meeting.

Four Tyler County teachers were honored for their selection as their respective school’s Teacher of the Year candidate.

They are Michelle Beagle, Tyler County Preschool Center; J.C. Kimble, Tyler Consolidated High School; Merritt Grimes, Sistersville Elementary School; and Matt Jennings,Arthur I. Boreman Elementary School.

Mrs. Grimes was named County Teacher of the Year and will represent Tyler County for the West Virginia Teacher of the Year.

Thirteen Tyler County staff members were recognized during at a recent meeting of the Tyler County Board of Education.

2011 RETIREES — Judy Tice, 33 years; Barb Amos, 29 years; Barb Slider, 34.5 years; ?Back Row:  Mary Lynn Rouse, 38 years; Melissa Flesher, 26 years; Rusty Keplinger, 32 years; David Langer, 34 years; Donna Renner, 32 years; and Colleen Folger, 25 years. Not pictured are Linda M. Hoover, 34 years; Robert M. Wilt, 32.5 years; Carl G. Rucker, 33 years; and Brad Ash, 34 years.

The Retiring Class of 2011 represent 417 years of service to Tyler County Schools.
