AIB choirs to perform
The A. I. Boreman Bobcat Choir and Percussion Ensemble will present their spring concert Tuesday May 3 at 7 p.m. in the AIB gymnasium.
The choral program at AIB, which includes a third grade choir and a combined fourth and fifth grade group expanded their performance repertoire this year. In addition to several selections performed in a traditional choral setting with piano accompaniment, the choir will also perform pieces for percussion ensemble and barred instruments.
The percussion pieces will feature instruments such as conga drum, bass drum and bongo drum in addition with other hand-held percussion instruments.
The choirs will combine at the end of the concert to perform three folk songs from Liberia, Israel, and Germany. These pieces have been arranged with parts for cylophones, percussion instruments, and also include singing and dancing.
