Communities host egg hunts
With Easter quickly approaching, thoughts are turning to family gatherings and community Easter Egg hunts.
The Friendly Lions Club is sponsoring an Easter Egg Hunt for all children in the Friendly area on Friday, April 22 at 2:30 p.m., at the Friendly Community Center (old Friendly School gym).
Lennie the Friendly Lion and the Easter Bunny will be on hand to greet the kids. The public is invited to attend.
In Sistersville, the Easter Bunny will be on hand to hide plastic eggs filled with candy at Fox’s Activity Center on April 23 at 11:30 a.m. (Location changed because of weather). This event is being sponsored by the Sistersville Community Service Organization.
Three age groups of children will be able to participate in the egg hunt: ages four and under; 5-6-7 year olds and 8-9-10 year olds.
Plastic eggs will be filled with candy and a few will have slips of paper inside them naming prize winners per age group.
There will be first, second and third place prizes given out in each age group.
The Middlebourne Easter Egg Hunt has been scheduled for Saturday, April 23 at 11 a.m. on the TCHS soccer field on Dodd Street.
The Easter Bunny will arrive at 11 a.m. and the first 250 children will receive a tree treat bag. Immediately following, an Easter bonnet/Easter cap contest will be held. The first 40 entries will receive another free treat bag. Top ten contestants will receive a trophy.
The Easter Egg Hunt is the grand finale of the event and is open to all children up to 12 years of age.
This fun-filled day is sponsored by the Stealey-Green Fund and the Town of Middlebourne.
