Bake Sale planned
The Indian Creek Southern Baptist Church will be hosting a Bake Sale on May 7 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in front of Did’s Design in Middlebourne.This event is to help raise money to support the American Cancer Society’s campaign to battle cancer. Please stop by and see what items we have for sale. There will be something for everyone’s taste.
3-on-3 tournament set
Relay for Life of Tyler County will be held on June 3-4 at the Sistersville City Park in Sistersville. During this relay, the Indian Creek Southern Baptist Church is sponsoring a 3 on 3 Basketball tournament beginning at 5 p.m.
A fourth team member is allowed for substitutions.
Teams must register and have entry fees of $20 per team paid and submitted no later than May 13 in order to be placed in the tournament line-ups.

Registration deadline looms
The deadline for registering for Relay for Life of Tyler County is fast approaching.
In order to receive an event shirt you must be registered by Tuesday, April 26.
The Relay committee is asking everyone in the community who is interested in walking the night of the event, and who want an event shirt please get registered, this is the only way we can promise you a shirt. They will not have extra event shirts on hand the night of the event.
Anyone interested can register online at www.relayforlife.org/tylerwv as a survivor, register on a team, or register to be a participant.

Team prepares for sale
The Relay For Life team at Sistersville General Hospital will sponsor a re-gifting sale May 3-6 form 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. each day.
The team is asking for donations from the community. Because storage space is limited, the team cannot accept large garage sale tye items, however, they are accepting new or gently used items to sell such as jewelry, bath and body type products, shoes and new or gently used clothing beginning April 29.
Donations will also be accepted the week of the sale.

Cornhole tournament slated
The Tyler Star News will sponsor the inaugural “TSN Cornhole 4 The Cure” tournament on June 3 during the Tyler County Relay For Life event.
Teams of two will compete in a bracketed tournament to win a custom-made cornhole game set. Prizes will also be given to second and third place teams.
Teams from all over are encouraged to participate in the fun.
The early bird registration fee is $10 per team. Teams registering after May 20 will pay a fee of $15 per team.

Car show benefits RFL
Car Crazy Relay for Life team is sponsoring a car, truck and motorcycle show at the Tyler County Fairgrounds, Sunday, June 12. Car show from 1-3 p.m., trophies awarded at 3 p.m. Registration fee $10. 50/50 drawing. Ham, scalloped potatoes, mashed potatoes, homemade noodles, green beans, rolls, dessert, and drink $7 adult, $5 children, eat in our carry out. Rain or shine!

Bank raises money for RFL
The Relay For Life Team at Union Bank is raising funds to make the “King” of Union Bank, Tim Aiken, the “Queen” of the bank for a day.
For $2,500, Aiken will wear a prom gown; for an additional $500 he will wear matching pumps.
Donations can be made at any Union Bank location, or mailed to Union Bank of Sistersville, c/o Camille Mace, 700 Wells Street, Sistersville, WV 26175.
