Municipal election slated
The City of Paden City will hold elections on June 2 for Recorder and city council. A member from each ward will be elected. Any person desiring to run for an office must file by 4 p.m. April 1 in the Recorder’s office in the city building.
Candidates that have filed thus far are: Recorder, Tammy Billiter; Council, Second Ward, Richard Wright, Jr. and Third Ward, Clyde Hochstrasser.
Drawing for ballot positions will be held April 4 beginning at 9 a.m. in the Recorder’s office. Last day to register to vote in the election is May 13. In order to register to vote, go to the courthouse in the county of your residence. The first day absentee ballots can be received by the Recorder’s office is March 18.
Early voting in person begins May 13 and the last day of early voting is May 31. Early voting will be held at city hall. Polls open at 6:30 a.m. and close at 7:30 p.m.
Poll locations are: First Ward: former middle school cafeteria; Second Ward: city building in council chambers: Third Ward: Paden City Elementary School.
