Sheriff’s report released

Tyler County Sheriff Earl Kendle, Jr. has released his monthly report for February 2011.

Officers traveled 10, 549 miles, served 105 hours of court bailiff duty, served 92 magistrate papers, 77 circuit court papers, and handled 99 complaints. Five auto accidents were investigated and eight home confinements monitored. One emergency notification was made and one motorist was assisted.

A total of twelve trips were made in February: North Central Regional Jail, 7; Northern Regional Detention Center, 2; and one each to Wheeling, Moundsville, and Bridgeport.

A total of 48 felony and misdemeanor arrests were made: burglary, 13; petit larceny, 13; delivery of a controlled substance, 5; battery, fugitive from justice, grand larceny, assault, 2; and once each: obtain money by false pretenses, unlawful purchase of pseudoephedrine , operate a clandestine lab, sexual assault, sexual abuse, sexual abuse by a custodian, truancy, terroristic threat, domestic battery.

Thirty-seven crimes were investigated in February: petit larceny, 5; burglary, domestic violence, disturbing the peace, battery, forgery, other forged check, 3;suicidal subject, suspicious person, operating/attempting to operate clandestine lab, 2; and one each, 911 hang up calls, alarm activation, destruction of property, sexual assault, unlawful purchase of pseudoephedrine, obtain money by false pretenses.

Traffic citations in February were issued for the following offenses: speeding, 7; no proof of insurance, 4; defective equipment, 3; no proof of registration, 2; and one each, DUIA, failure to obtain WV registration, improper registration, driving on suspended/revoked, failure to obtain WV operator’s license, permit unauthorized person to drive.
