Business owners unite
A group of Sistersville business owners met on Friday, Feb 25 at the Wells Inn to begin working together to promote economic health and development in Sistersville.
The objective of the group involves promoting all types of Sistersville businesses: service, retail, trade, government, etc. to improve the overall economic health of the community. A high priority need identified is a Sistersville web site with links to individual business sites.
A web designer is working on the site and attendees agreed this is a critical step in promoting local businesses. Events and promotions to draw people into downtown Sistersville was another critical need identified by participants. There were many creative and exciting ideas discussed and the next meeting’s agenda includes identifying specific promotions and actions the group will undertake. Attendees agreed much more can be accomplished by working together to promote our town.
Representing businesses at the Feb. 25 meeting were David Fox (Sistersville Dollar Store & More, Fox’s Business Center), Stephen Leasure (Sistersville Volunteer Fire Department), Udo Sosnowski (Sudo Services), Gene Rice (Handyman Construction Company), Robert Wable (Wable Ford), John Bell (Bell Chevrolet), Bernadette Hood (Nails by Bernadette), Jim King (King’s Corner), Barbara Frum (Floral Expressions), Julie Schleier (A Book Clinic), Terry Wiley (Potential), Ann Winslow (Ann’s Alterations), Charles Winslow (Wells Inn), Linda Marrin.
The group will meet again on Friday, March 4 at 7 p.m. in the Wells Inn conference room. All business owners are welcome and encouraged to attend.
