‘TV Week’ supplement to be included in TSN

By Staff | Jan 5, 2011

The Tyler Star News is happy to announce a new supplement in each week’s local edition. TV Week, a 32-page booklet, will keep readers abreast of what is happening in the entertainment world while giving a comprehensive cable television viewing guide.

The bulk of the guide is dedicated to an easy-to-read grid style for daily listings. The listings will begin with the Friday following each Wednesday’s publication and continue through Thursday.

However, it is much more than a simple guide. Each day includes a “Best Bets” section that gives a brief description of specially chosen offerings that day. Also, sports lovers will undoubtedly enjoy the convenience of the Sports Zone. The feature offers a separate listing of all sports programming for the coming week, divided by sport.

Each week’s edition will include a feature story highlighting an upcoming television special or show. Other editorial content includes Soap & Bubbles that gives synopses of the popular soap operas. View From The Couch offers reviews of movies recently released to home video. And TV Pipeline is in the simple question and answer format, allowing readers to submit their questions about entertainment.

Readers will also enjoy the crossword and word search in each edition.

TV Week’s programming is based on local cable offerings. “If readers see any channels not listed or listed incorrectly, please call us, and we will get it corrected,” urged Publisher Brian Clutter.

Readers can reach the Tyler Star News at 304-652-4141.

“We hope our readers will enjoy and put to good use this addition to our weekly newspaper,” said Clutter.

Since the content is of a very localized nature, the guide will not be included in issues mailed outside of the local television viewing area. However, it will be in all editions of local subscriptions, racks, and retail outlets.
