Thomas fills PD vacancy

By Staff | Dec 15, 2010

The Sistersville Police Department is once again at full force with the recent employment of Patrolman A.J. Thomas.

It can be said that Thomas, age 27, has law enforcement in his blood. His father, Cpt. Mike Thomas, has been with the New Martinsville Police Department for nearly 25 years.

“Law enforcement has always been something I was interested in,” Thomas commented. “There was a position open here, and timing was right.”

Thomas graduated from West Virginia University in 2005 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Agriculture and Business Management. After graduating from the 16-week training course at the West Virginia State Police Academy, Thomas can count his law enforcement certification among his accomplishments. He could on the roster at the WVSPA as soon as May 2011.

Thomas and his wife, Jana, reside in Paden City. Jana teaches Spanish at Tyler Consolidated High School.

In addition to Thomas, the Sistersville Police Department is staffed by Chief Dave Howell, Cpl. D.A. Northcraft and Ptlm. B.S. Owens.
