Fox to appear on ‘Martha Stewart’

By Staff | Dec 1, 2010

After appearing on ”The Colbert Report” Nov. 10, Beri Fox has landed another TV gig.

This time Fox, president and chief executive officer of Paden City-based Marble King, is scheduled to appear on ”The Martha Stewart Show” at 10 a.m. Thursday on the Hallmark Channel.

Stewart appeared on the same episode of ”The Colbert Report” as Fox. They talked back stage about marbles and manufacturing, which led to Stewart inviting Fox to be on her show.

”We’re going to talk about the history of marbles and Marble King. I don’t know exactly what we’re going to do. … She’s very interested in marbles and played with them as a child,” Fox said of Stewart.

Fox was invited to be on ”The Colbert Report” after show organizers noticed her comments during an Alliance for American Manufacturing panel event held at Wheeling Park’s White Palace in October.

”It was a wonderful experience. Stephen Colbert is a nice person and really cares about American jobs and keeping jobs in America. It’s important for all of us to keep jobs in America,” Fox said. ”It’s projected that in 2011, for the first time in the country ever, there will be more imported goods than goods made in America.”

Fox noted since her appearance on ”Colbert,” she has received about 1,000 e-mails from supporters and other small business owners, noting they are happy she is talking about the future of American manufacturing. Marble orders via her company’s website – marblekingusa.com – also have increased.

”They want to support the effort, and they want to support Marble King,” Fox said.

Her appearance on “The Martha Stewart Show” is scheduled to be taped Tuesday.
