Tragedy was avoided on Saturday afternoon after an impaired driver was arrested in Sistersville.

Deputy D.S. Dalrymple of the Tyler County Sheriff’s Office arrested George M. Ramiy, 46, of Sistersville, on Sept. 18 after he attempted to drive onto the parade route.

Ramiy was charged with first offense driving under the influence. According to preliminary results, his BAC was more than three times the legal limit.
