Cow House Road tops Commission agenda

By Staff | Sep 1, 2010

Another Tyler County resident attended the Tyler County Commission meeting on Monday regarding the name change of the road where she lives.

Linda Jenson, a resident on Adonis Road, asked the commissioners to change the name of Adonis Road to Cow House Road. Vice President John Stender told her to bring signatures of the residents living on Adonis Road who want the name change to the next meeting scheduled for Sept. 21.

Located off W.Va. 2, the road is known as Cow House but at the top of the hill it is known as Adonis Road. Jenson stated that it is confusing for the FedEx and UPS drivers if they are not familiar with the area.

Commissioner Robert Wable asked for a map of the area for the next meeting.

Stender reported on the CSSI maintenance agreement extension and had some concerns about renewing the agreement. The cost for the extension on the maintenance on the server for the Assessor’s Office and the County Clerk’s Office is $1,499.00

Patty Boggs was called into the meeting and Stender asked her how the server has been running. She said that she really won’t know until she enters June’s taxes into the computer.

The agreement runs out on Sept. 24. Stender made a motion to table the issue until the next meeting.

In other business, Stender reported that a new well is going to be drilled at the 4-H campground. Rusty Smith, a well driller, has agreed to do the job under a grant received by the Commission.

Stender made the motion to appoint Wable to make necessary changes in the budget revisions. Additionally, a request by Nancy Haught to reappoint Edwin C. Weigle to the Solid Waste Board was approved.

The next meeting will be held at 9 a.m. on Sept. 21 at the Tyler County Courthouse.
