FRN calls prevention meetings
A series of community meetings on the topic of prescription drug abuse have been planned for Tyler County by the Family Resource Network during the week of July 26. The goal of the forums to gather ideas and rally community support for an upcoming summit to be held in September.
The Tyler County Prevention Partnership was founded through a grant obtained by the FRN earlier this year and Melody Reed from the FRN, says drug abuse is only one area of concern. In reality, the program is an “umbrella for all prevention measures” translating to more community meetings as the need for discussion arises.
The three-day tour of the county will begin at 7 p.m. on Monday, July 26 in the multi-purpose room on the campus of Paden City High School. Then, on Tuesday , July 27, the floor will be open at 6 p.m. in the basement of the Tyler County Senior Center in Middlebourne. The tour will wrap up the discussion at 7 p.m. on Thursday, July 29 at the Sistersville Volunteer Fire Department.
All meetings are open to the public and everyone is encouraged to come out and share their ideas.
All information obtained at the public meetings will be posted and discussed among workgroups at a summit to be held in September.
