With the aid of a crew from Arvilla Oil Field Services, headquartered in Pleasants County, a monument honoring Tyler County residents who fought in the Civil War was placed on the Courthouse lawn.

A dedication ceremony has been slated for Sunday, May 30 at 2 p.m. Special guests for the event include Abraham Lincoln (courtesy of impersonator Fritz Klein) and a Civil War reenactment group.
