Events slated for injured state trooper
Several benefits have been planned for Cpl. Andy Pringle, a West Virginia State Trooper injured during a traffic stop in Ritchie County on April 24.
The first event will be held from 6:30-8:30 p.m. on May 7 at the Ritchie County High School Auditorium. Guest speakers will include Ronnie Blevins and John Frum, with special music from Dan Martin, Linda Blouir, John Kopshina, Tanya Blouir and more.
A cover dish dinner will be held at Doddridge County High School on June 6 beginning at 1 p.m. The public is asked to bring a covered dish. Live entertainment will begin at 2:30 p.m.
Locally, Valley Grange #519, in conjunction with Oxford Community Grange #526, will host a spaghetti dinner on May 15 from 2-6 p.m. at the Grange hall in Alma.
The menu will consist of spaghetti, salad, garlic bread and a dessert. The cost for adults is $8, Children ages 5 to 12 is $4, and children under 5 eat free.

Additionally, a 3-on-3 basketball tournament has been planned for June 6 at 1:30 p.m. The entry fee is $30 per team and each team must have 3-4 players (age 14 and up). Money and registration forms are due by June 1. To obtain a registration form, contact Tara Bee at 304-873-1717.
Volunteers are requested for keep score and supervise the games.
Pringle has been a State Trooper for more than 10 years and currently resides in Doddridge County with his wife and three children.
