Casey Lasure, 16, of New Martinsville has been missing since late Friday night or very early Saturday morning.

She is assumed to have runaway from her home on Doolin Run in the middle of the night on Jan. 2.

The Wetzel County Sheriff’s Department has named Chris Smith, 20, of the Shadyside, Ohio, area to be a person of interest in the case.

Sheriff James Hoskins of the Wetzel County Sheriff’s Department says, “We’re talking to other individuals as well. Officers from the West Virginia State Police, and the New Martinsville and Paden City Police Departments are all assisting in the search.”

Lasure is a white female, 5-feet, 2-inches tall, 140 pounds, with brown eyes and brown shoulder-length hair. She is a sophomore at Magnolia High School.
