Wall recognizes seniors at Tyler board meeting

ALL-STARS — Tyler Consolidated Soccer Coach Scott Wall recognized five members of the 2009 soccer team during the most recent Board of Education meeting. Pictured, from left, are Wall, Spencer Kinnard, Dustin Snider, Alex Jones, Curtis Romine and Aaron Estep.
Five seniors from the 2009 Tyler Consolidated High School soccer team attended the Board of Education meeting on Monday evening.
“I want to introduce you to some of our soccer players this year and tell you about some of their accomplishments”, said Soccer Coach Scott Wall. “The boys here tonight have been a part of 31 out of the schools 51 wins, that is about 78 percent of the school wins,” he explained. “They have set records in scores, wins, assists, shut outs, and they are also excellent students as well. “I am very proud of these guys.”
Wall introduced the following students to the board members:
Curtis Romine is a three year letterman, a great player on goals and defense. Romine is also a great student.
Alex Jones is a three year letterman and received honorable mention to the All-State team; honorable mention, OVAC; All LKC; and will be representing Tyler in the North-South game.
Aaron Estep is a three year letterman and was selected to the second team All-State; honorable mention for the OVAC team; All LKC; and will be representing Tyler Consolidated in the North-South game.
Spencer Kinnard is a four year letterman and co-captain of the team. He was selected as the OVAC Division three player of the year, All-State team; first team OVAC; all LKC team; and will be representing his school in the North-South game.
Dustin Snider is a four year letterman and co-captain of the team also. He also received honorable mention for the All-State team, named to the first team, OVAC; all LKC; and will be representing his school in the North-South game.
“I want to thank you for all the support that you have given us,” said Wall to the board members.
Kinnard stood up and spoke to the board on behalf of the team, thanking them for their support. He said he proud he was to have been apart of the soccer program.
In other matters, the board discussed the public hearing on the proposed 2010-20 Comprehensive Educational Facilities Plan (CEFP).
This plan is reviewed every ten years. It is to set a plan on what improvements we want in the next ten years.
“This is simply a wish list”, stated Board Member Jimmy Wyatt.
The next regular meeting will be held on Monday, Nov. 30 starting at 7 p.m. at the Tyler County Board of Education office at the Tyler Consolidated High School.
