PROPERTY RECOVERED — Thanks to the tireless efforts of Cpl. Shannon Huffman and Sgt. Dean Pratt, both of the Tyler County Sheriff’’s Department, several pieces of stolen equipment have been recovered. To date, one arrest has been made in connection to the crimes, though more are expected to be made.

An investigation into multiple thefts throughout Tyler County has resulted in the recovery of several pieces of stolen property and the arrest of one man in connection with the crimes.

“We started receiving complaints last week about burglaries in out buildings and garages in Middlebourne, Sistersville and Pursley,” stated Sheriff Bob Kendle.

Interviews conducted consequently, along with tips received led to the subsequent recovery of several chain saws and weed eaters and the arrest of Kevin Leek, 33, of Sistersville.

Leek is currently in custody and is being housed in the North Central Regional Jail.

“Cpl. Shannon Huffman and Sgt. Dean Pratt worked long hours to recover the property for the victims,” Kendle said.

The equipment, which was recovered from various locations in Tyler County where Leek had hidden it, was believed to have been stolen to purchase drugs.

The investigation is ongoing with more arrests forthcoming.
