First Federal honors scholastic acheivement

Students from Tyler County and Paden City schools who have distinguished themselves academically were honored last week at Tyler Consolidated High School near Middlebourne.
The students, whose grades put them in the top 15 percent of their classes, were honored by First Federal Savings Bank of Sistersville and Parkersburg. This year marked the 31st that the bank has held events honoring the students, and giving some of them savings accounts.
First Federal President Stanley Kiser praised the students for their work during the event, on Thursday. Those honored last week were from Tyler Consolidated and Paden City high schools. Singled out for special recognition were seven high school seniors who were named members of the Academic Hall of Fame. They are students whose grades have placed them in the top 15 percent of their classes every year from fifth through 12th grades.
Members of the Academic Hall of Fame this year include: Wes Cosper from Paden City High School, and Dane Gaiser, Cullen Grover, Travis Hoyes, Heather Lynch, Kara Martie, Alexa Talkington and Nathan Weese from Tyler Consolidated.
