Candidates file for Paden City municipal offices
Paden City’s municipal elections will take place June 4. Those who have filed include: Jarrell Bailey, First Ward; Richard Wright, Jr., Second Ward; and Eileen Smittle, Third Ward. The last day to file for office is April 3 at 4 p.m. in the recorder’s office of the city building.
Recorder Ginger Wilcox withdrew her former filing for the office on Monday and tendered her resignation effective that day. An emergency meeting of city council Monday night appointed Larry Shepherd as interim recorder. He also filed for the office.
The last day to register to vote in the city election is May 15. Go to the courthouse in the county in which you live in order to register. Absentee voting personal appearance will start May 15 and end June 1.
First Ward voting is at the cafeteria, old middle school. Second Ward voting is at the city building council chambers. Third Ward voting is at the Wetzel County Grade School.
Polls open at 6:30 a.m. and close at 7:30 p.m. Election Day.
