FFA sells ham, bacon, eggs at auction

Chelsea Wells’ Grand Champion ham was sold to Long Reach Federal Credit Union for $643.50.
The Tyler County FFA’s 59th Annual Ham, Bacon and Egg sale was well attended with Grand Champion and Reserve Champion grades going for high dollar.
Chelsea Wells exhibited her Grand Champion ham weighing in at 21.45 pounds. The pork sold at auction for $30 per pound or $643.50 to Long Reach Federal Credit Union.
Next up was Maggie Kimball with her Grand Champion bacon which weighed 8.75 pounds. Her product sold for $33 per pound or $288.75 to Union Bank of Tyler County.
Keith Milhoan of Sistersville purchased Nathan Bolin’s Grand Champion eggs for $155.
Julian Work displayed his Grand Champion bread for bid. The Plaza Inn Motel was the winner of the auction, paying $150 for the champion loaf.

Maggie Kimball’s Grand Champion bacon went to Union Bank of Tyler County for $288.75.
Nick Beaver’s Reserve Champion ham weighed in at 21.8 pounds and was purchased by Mary Ann Divine for $23 per pound or $501.40.
Kimball was on the floor once more with an 8.05 pound Reserve Champion bacon won by DAC for $37 per pound or $297.85.
Joanna Friend’s Reserve Champion eggs went on the auction block and were purchased by Sistersville IGA for $155.
Zach Lamp’s Reserve Champion bread went to Monroe Excavating for $120.
Next on the list was the Tyler FFA Scholarship ham sold to DAC for $120; the Scholarship bacon went to Bill Swank for $220.
