New Martinsville, W.Va. – Community leaders, WVU Medicine officials, and local residents gathered Monday, July 13, to celebrate the groundbreaking of the future WVU Medicine Wetzel County Hospital Sistersville Rapid Care, a new healthcare facility that will expand access to convenient, high quality care for residents of Tyler County and the surrounding region.

Located at 520 Diamond Avenue in Sistersville, the new Rapid Care represents WVU Medicine’s continued commitment to investing in the health and well-being of the communities it serves. Designed with patients in mind, the state-of-the-art building will provide a modern, welcoming environment that reflects WVU Medicine’s commitment to delivering exceptional care close to home.

“This project is about much more than opening a new location. It’s about strengthening our commitment to the people of Tyler County and ensuring families have greater access to quality healthcare in their own community,” said Tony Martinelli, President and CEO of WVU Medicine Wetzel County Hospital. “Every investment we make is rooted in our mission to care for people where they live, and today’s groundbreaking is another important step toward fulfilling that promise.”

The new Sistersville Rapid Care continues WVU Medicine’s strategic investment in rural healthcare, bringing modern facilities and expanded healthcare infrastructure to communities across the region. In addition to improving access for patients, the project is expected to generate economic activity during construction and contribute to the long-term vitality of the local community.

Once complete, the renovated Sistersville Rapid Care location will further strengthen access to convenient, high-quality healthcare while reaffirming WVU Medicine’s long-term commitment to the people and communities of Tyler County.
