By Randy Rutherford - Staff Writer | Mar 4, 2026

Tyler Consolidated High School Principal Paden Morris has been named the 2026 “Administrator of the Year” by the West Virginia School Counselors Association (WVSCA), an honor recognizing outstanding leadership and advocacy in advancing comprehensive school counseling programs.

The award highlights supervisors who have demonstrated exceptional commitment to strengthening counseling services and supporting student success. Morris was recognized for his continued efforts to champion the work of school counselors and student support staff at Tyler Consolidated.

“I am incredibly humbled by this recognition and feel very lucky to work with a great team composed of great individuals who work their hardest to support students,” Morris said.

He credited much of the school’s success to its counseling department and student support team, specifically acknowledging school counselors Mrs. Stollings and Mrs. McCoy for their dedication.

“Both our school counselors and our student success staff provide endless support for our students,” Morris said. “However, I can best support them is what’s best for our students and staff. It is the people that make the program, and I am very fortunate to work with a great staff and great students every day.”

Morris also expressed pride in representing the school community through the recognition. “I’m proud to represent Tyler Consolidated High School, our staff, and our students, and I am very grateful to receive this recognition,” he said.

The Administrator of the Year award underscores the vital role school leadership plays in fostering strong counseling programs and ensuring students receive the guidance and resources they need to succeed.
