Two Trusted Pharmacies Unite to Serve Sistersville and Local Residents

Beginning August 27, Phillips Drug will officially merge into Sistersville Pharmacy at 312 Diamond Street. The decision, while difficult, was made with patients’ best interests in mind. “We understand many have sentimental ties to Phillips Drug, myself included,” said pharmacist Brian Camerlin. “I’ve worked here for nearly 15 years, and we wouldn’t have made this decision if we didn’t have trust in the change being for the better.”

Phillips Drug patients do not need to take any action during this transition. All prescriptions, insurance details, and medical histories will automatically transfer to Sistersville Pharmacy on the evening of Tuesday, August 26. Beginning Wednesday, August 27, the combined team will be ready to serve you at the renovated Sistersville Pharmacy location. Store hours will be Monday-Friday, 9 a.m.-6 p.m. and Saturday, 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Patients may also call 304-652-3711 with any questions.

Phillips Drug, originally founded in 1964 by Jim Phillips, has been a trusted name in Sistersville for generations. Jim, a third-generation pharmacist, often said, “I loved working with the people. I love helping people. When I finished the day and felt I didn’t help somebody, it wasn’t a complete day.” Many still remember visiting the shop’s soda fountain as children and being greeted by Jim’s friendly staff. Although Jim sadly passed away earlier this year, his legacy has lived on through Brian and Lindsay Camerlin and their trusted staff, who have carried forward his tradition of compassionate care for more than a decade.

The merger will combine the strengths of both pharmacies, and patients will still be greeted by the same friendly faces they trust from both locations. “We are excited about this next step in our journey. Our priority has always been to serve this community with integrity and care, and we believe that joining forces with Sistersville Pharmacy will allow us to do just that; but, even more effectively,” said Lindsay Camerlin of Phillips Drug.

“It’s often said that two is better than one, but in this case, I believe one is stronger. Sistersville Pharmacy and Phillips Drug each have a long history of trusted patient care and excellent reputations in our community. By joining forces, we are bringing our teams together to serve at the highest level–offering convenient hours, parking at the door, drive-thru service, and home delivery, along with enhanced services such as medication synchronization, packaging, immunizations, and medication therapy management. In preparation, Sistersville Pharmacy is completing a full remodel featuring modernized workspaces, advanced technology, automation, additional checkouts, and two private consultation rooms. As pharmacist and owner of Sistersville Pharmacy, I’m excited to work with Brian and Lindsay Camerlin and their team to continue our mission of being the preferred pharmacy in our community by delivering the “Experience the Difference” level of service – with every patient, with every interaction.” –Jason Turner of Sistersville/Moundsville Pharmacies

“Over 60 years after Phillips Pharmacy first opened, independent pharmacies are still thriving because of the personalized care they provide,” said Brian and Lindsay Camerlin. “Our patients are not numbers–they’re friends, family, and neighbors. That is what makes independent pharmacy different, and why we are excited to continue this journey together.”
