Large Crowds Turn Out for 62nd Tyler County Fair
Tyler County Fair Queen Miller and her court.
The 62nd annual Tyler County Fair kicked off on July 27th, 2025, drawing large crowds and delivering a week of family fun, food, and entertainment.
Despite bouts of rain and persistent high temperatures accompanied by matching humidity throughout the week, fair goers came out in force to enjoy the festivities. Organizers reported strong attendance numbers with the weather holding up well enough to allow most events to proceed as scheduled.
Opening night kicked off with a lively performance by the Tyler Consolidated High School Silver Knights Marching Band which led the opening ceremony on Monday evening. Their spirited performance set the tone for the week ahead. The evening continued with the annual Tyler County Fair Queen’s Pageant, a crowd favorite that drew plenty of cheers and applause as contestants vied for the crown. Kiersten Miller was crowned as the 2025 Tyler County Fair Queen and reigned over the fair throughout the celebration. Other royalty named was Tiny Miss Maelee Bayless, Little Miss Stella Thomas, Little Mister Reese Archer, Junior Miss Ayvi Heintzman, Pre-Teen Azlynne Henthorn and Teen Abbigayl Cox.
Throughout the week, fair goers were treated to a packed schedule of events catering to all ages and interests. Daily activities included livestock shows, bingo sponsored by the Friendly Lion’s Club, karaoke and the ever-popular Cow Patty Bingo. The fairgrounds came alive with carnival rides, a variety of food trucks, and baked good sales offering everything from sweet treats to classic fair food.
The fair also featured a wide range of competitions and entertainment, including dirt track racing, mini wedge racing, flat cart racing, and nightly live music on the main stage. Other crowd-pleasing events included the hog calling contest, liars contest, nail driving competition, hay-bale throwing, corn hole tournaments and horseshoe pitching.
Several major events drew especially large crowds, such as the truck driver rodeo, the car show, ATV drag racing, and the much-anticipated Demolition Derby, proudly sponsored by Antero Resources.
Additional community focused activities enriched the week-long celebration. These included bicycle races, Youth Day, and a free Youth Day carnival lunch sponsored by the Middlebourne Baptist Church and Tyler county Speedway. A special Veteran’s Lunch honoring local service members was hosted with support from the Council of Senior Tyler Countians. The County Bell Pageant was another cherished tradition continuing to honor women for their community involvement and leadership.
One of the standout moments of the week was Kid’s Day at the County Fair, which proved to be a big success thanks to the generous sponsorship and efforts of Long Reach Federal Credit Union. Their support helped create a fun-filled day for children and families across the county and surrounding areas. The day was filled with games, activities and special surprises.
Special thanks go to Creative Image Hair and Nail Salon for sponsoring free rides, bringing smiles and excitement to kids of all ages. The Middlebourne Baptist Church also played a key role by providing lunch, making sure no one went hungry during the festivities.
A heartfelt thank you also goes to the Bubble Wagon, whose presence added a magical touch that made Kid’s Day even more special.
The fair concluded on Saturday night with an exciting evening of entertainment featuring performances by Harper Grace, followed by area favorite Lanco, who closed the week on a high note with a crowd pleasing show.
All in all it was a week of pageantry and fun for everyone who attended. Congratulations to the Tyler County Fair Association on hosting another successful fair and continuing the beloved tradition for the heart of Tyler County.
