WV Delegate David Kelly Named Commissioner of WV Division of Corrections
Judge Richard Wilson administers Oath of Office to David Kelly.
Gov. Patrick Morrisey recently appointed Delegate David Kelly to the position of Commissioner of Corrections and Rehabilitation for the State of West Virginia.
Kelly responded saying, “I’m both humbled and honored that Gov. Morrisey has appointed me as Commissioner of the West Virginia Division of Corrections and Rehabilitation. For more than 20 years, I’ve served in law enforcement, on the Tyler County Commission, and most recently in the West Virginia House of Delegates.”
Kelly said each of these roles has deepened his commitment to public safety and strengthened his understanding of the challenges and opportunities within the justice system.
“This new chapter is a continuation of that service. As Commissioner, I will work alongside the dedicated men and women across our correctional facilities to support rehabilitation, ensure accountability, and promote a safer West Virginia for all.”
He said he’s grateful to Gov. Morrisey for his trust in him and to the people of West Virginia for their continued support and encouragement.
“There is meaningful work ahead. I look forward to getting started,” added Kelly.
I want to thank Judge Wilson for administering the oath for my new position as Commissioner of the Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation.
