Golden Eggs and Smiles Abound at Sistersville Easter Egg Hunt

Excitement was in the air and a few rain clouds as the community celebrated the annual Easter Egg Hunt, which was held this past Saturday, April 19th at the Sistersville Park.
Families from across the area gathered for the spring tradition, with festivities kicking off in the afternoon. While the forecast called for mild temperatures, there was a chance of scattered showers — but that didn’t dampen spirits or stop the fun.
This year’s hunt featured three age divisions to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all participants: ages one to four, ages five to eight, and ages nine to twelve. Dozens of brightly colored eggs were scattered throughout the park, with eager hunters ready to fill their baskets.
In addition to the regular eggs, three special golden eggs were hidden across the park. Children lucky enough to find one received a special prize, adding an extra layer of excitement to the event.
The Easter Bunny also made an appearance, greeting children and posing for photos, a highlight that was especially well-received again by the community just like in previous years.
“The Easter Egg Hunt is always a favorite tradition in Sistersville,” Mayor Rice shared. “It’s a wonderful way to bring families together and celebrate the season. We all are excited to see the kids’ faces light up again this year.”
Community members were encouraged to bring umbrellas just in case, but luckily, they weren’t needed and all signs pointed to another joyful gathering at Sistersville Park.
