McCormick Greene Holds Night Out Against Crime

Smokey the Bear Made an Appearance during the National Night Out event.
McCormick Greene and McCormick Crossing recently celebrated their first National Night Out.
For the past 6 months residents from both properties have been meeting weekly discussing ways to bring resources to residents and brainstorming how to build an engaging and safe community in which to live. The National Night Out Carnival was a kick off to what they hope will foster a close relationship with law enforcement and community resources here in Tyler and Wetzel counties.
Several residents struggle with accessing community resources. So, the thought was how do we bring the programs to the residents. How do we let them know what is available? After speaking with Jill Ash from the Tyler County FRN an idea was put into action. Sixteen organizations showed up to support that idea and sparked hope to let residents know their voices are being heard.
“They are a part of the surrounding community and not forgotten,” explained Sabrina Watson, Community Manager for both McCormick Greene and McCormick Crossing. “I cannot thank these organizations enough for their time and efforts. The need for these programs is real and this was a stepping stone to meet those needs here at McCormick Greene & Crossing.”
Tyler County FRN, WIC, Lions Community Club, First Baptist Church-Sistersville, Westbrook Health Services, TCCF-TCFSC, Tyler Co Schools, The Health Plan, WV Adult Ed, Jobs & Hope WV, Unicare, The Lighthouse CAC, New Beginning Recovery Clinic, Local Farmers Market, Division of Forestry Smokey the Bear, Police, and Mayor Rice all joined in on the celebration.
