The Memorial “Hooked on Fishing Not On Drugs” event was held on Saturday, April 27th at Conway Run Lake in Tyler County with a total of 186 kids participating. Alexis Stevens took top honors with a total weight of seven pounds six ounces in trout. Second place went to Gracie Billiter whose total was seven pounds five ounces. Alexis picked up the custom-made rod and reel built by Jason Stoneking for winning first place while Gracie was awarded a brand-new fishing pole. The big winner on the day was Cooper Blossom whose name was drawn for the lifetime fishing license and trout stamp.

Free lunch was provided and prizes were awarded to all participants following the conclusion of the fishing. The event is sponsored by the Tyler County Rod & Gun Club and the WV Department of Natural Resources.
