Sistersville Ferry Cruises Available
Cruises are one of the little extra things the ferry does for the community, and the comments from groups who rent the ferry are always very positive. The Sistersville Ferry is possibly the most unique venue for a picnic in all of West Virginia. We regularly host church groups, family reunions, alumni gatherings, civic clubs, and birthday parties. These groups bring their food, tables and chairs, and the ferry provides a scenic, early evening river excursion. In addition, there is plenty of room for a band, DJ, corn hole, and other games.
The rental cost for a two-hour cruise is $250 and the cost for a three-hour cruise is $350. A lot of our friends might not realize it, but cruises are one of the most profitable activities the ferry provides for the community. The money we make from cruises helps keep our historic, Ohio Valley treasure operating. It’s the last operating ferry in the state, and we don’t want to lose it.
Interestingly, a lot of people ask where do the cruises go. Well, that’s a very simple answer. They go north or south on the Ohio River and Captain Bo lets our guests decide. Through September, cruise are available Thursday Sunday beginning at 6 PM. In October, when our cross-river service has ended, cruises are available any time of the day and any day of the week. Currently we have three cruises scheduled for June. June 16, 23 and 25.
