AMERICANS TAKE NOTICE (A poem for Flag Day)
I am the American Flag
Representing every state in the Union.
I can be found everywhere!
Patriots fly me in their yards;
Display me from their porch
Sometimes I line fences and sidewalks.
I am even displayed through towns.
I tower in front of schools,
Federal buildings and even the White House.
I drape caskets of our honored dead.
I honor our veterans at their grave sites.
Songs are written about me.
Do you know the National Anthem?
“God Bless The USA.”
I am carried at all parades.
Proudly I stand on the moon.
I can be found as a decoration on a holiday cake.
Did you know I am proudly humbled
By the Christian Flag at sea during services?
It is as it should be.
Jesus said in Matthew 13:15 “For this people’s heart is waxed gross, and their ears are dull of hearing, and their eyes have closed; lest at any time they should see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and should understand with their heart, and should be converted, and I should heal them.”
Americans take heed at the Saviour’s words.
I too, shout the same words at you.
America; take notice before it is too late.
I am displayed
But I am not seen.
I speak, but I am not heard.
The Constitution is our guiding light.
We are dying as a country
Because we are divided.
A country divided against itself
Cannot stand!
I AM OLD GLORY!
I WILL NOT GO DOWN WITHOUT A FIGHT!
I AM PROUD TO REPRESENT THE UNITED STATES!
