Legacy Riders Crossing the Ferry into Sistersville

May 19, 2022 marked the beginning of the American Legion Legacy Run which began in Follensbee, WV. The run and will end in Morgantown, WV on May 22.  Sistersville Post 67 was the first stop for the riders as they traveled across the Sistersville Ferry and were treated as guests of Post 67 to a hearty and delicious breakfast. The menu consisted of sausage, gravy and biscuits along with scrambled eggs and bacon. The Legacy Fund is supported by the American Legionnaires and American Legion Riders to assist with the costs of college tuition for the children of parents and soldiers who have paid the ultimate sacrifice for their country. American Legion Riders chapters are well known throughout the United States for their charitable work, which has raised hundreds of thousands of dollars for local children’s hospitals, schools, veterans’ homes, severely wounded service members and scholarships.
