Lenora Belle Warner Caldwell, 83, of Bridgeport, WV, passed away on Saturday, February 4, 2017 at her residence.
She was born on March 14, 1933 in Doddridge County, a daughter of the late Clair Starkey and Thelma (Stoneking) Starkey Harris.
Lenora is survived by her four sons: Gerald Warner and wife, Sue of Arlington, TX; Samuel Warner of Alma, WV; Richard Warner of Arlington, TX; and Daniel Warner of Alma, WV; one brother, Mont Elwood Harris; nine grandchildren; two step grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. Also surviving are numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Lenora was preceded in death by her first husband, William Sherl Warner, her second husband, Robert Caldwell, and six siblings: Earl Starkey, Jennings Starkey, Louise Cunningham, Ginger Harris, Dawn Gibson, and Charlie Harris.
Lenora was a graduate of Bristol High School and in her younger years worked as a waitress. She later worked as an income tax preparer for H&R Block for many years.
Lenora was a published author, having written two pre-teen books titled “What Happened to Grandma” and “The Secret of the Old Model T,” which were displayed at West Virginia’s Tamarack center.
She loved crossword puzzles, word games of any kind, and was a very avid reader.
Lenora’s wishes for cremation services will be honored.
