Janet Arlene Boston, 82, of Sistersville, WV, died Thursday, December 15, 2016 at the Ritchie Personal Care Home, Sistersville, WV.
She was born June 8, 1934 in Hackensack, NJ, a daughter of the late Kenneth and Bertha Robbins.
She was a former President for the Morris Co. N.J. Parks Commission, a member of Archers Chapel Methodist Church, Middlebourne, WV, she had been an active member of the Sistersville Ferry Board and involved in many historical groups in Sistersville.
The Boston’s moved to Sistersville, WV in 2000, and had a home in Shirley also. While in Shirley, Jan and her sisters opened the free “Book Lender” in 1994. Janet and Bob Tippins were instrumental in the fight for and founding of the Sistersville walking trail.
Survivors include her husband of 61 of years, Cornelius “Neal” Boston; a son, Kenneth (Pamela) Scott Hamilton Boston of Upper Saddle River, NJ; a daughter, Laura (Erick) Thek of Germany; a grandson, Liam Cornelius Boston of NJ and two sisters, Elaine Hamilton Burger and Marilyn Putten Vink, both of Sistersville.
