Robert Richard Bassett, 70, of Middlebourne departed this life Saturday, December 17, 2016 in Liza’s Place, Wheeling.
He was born August 15, 1946 in Tyler County, a son of the late James Ross and Goldie Irene Watson Bassett.
Bob was a retired truck driver for Grief Brothers Inc., Washington, Pa. He was the pastor for In Home Ministries.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two sisters; Sandra Keller and Shirley Henderson. A brother in law James Newbrough.
Bob is survived by two sons; Richard Bassett and his wife Susan, Moundsville and Ronald Bassett, Middlebourne. Two daughters; Roxanne Shick, Palestone, WV and Roberta Gatewood, Ashboro, NC. A brother James Bassett and his wife Mildred, Middlebourne. Four sisters; Linda Newbrough, Alice Faye Swan and her husband Charles “Sam” all of Middlebourne, Darlene Owens and her husband Robert, Alma and Debbie Richard and her husband Gerald, Reader. Girlfriend Carolyn Ball, New Martinsville. Six grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
Family will receive friends today from noon until 2 p.m., the time of the service at Furbee Funeral Home, Middlebourne. Bob’s brother-in- law Pastor Gerald Richard will officiate the service. Interment in Middlebourne Cemetery.
