Girls' Team

Good morning.

Slow news day or maybe it’s a slow morning, not sure yet, but here it goes.

Silver Knights’ Quintin Richmond and Nate Lantz were named All-OVAC Soccer. Honorable Mention goes to Levi Morgan and Luke Daugherty.

And though Magnolia is up the river a ways, Cameron Archer and Jake Fruner were named All-OVAC Soccer too. Honorable Mention went to Riley Nice and Jentry Schultz.

Maybe nominate Coach Scott Wall for Maxprep’s 2017 Double – Goal Coach Award.

On the girls’ side of the ledger, Silver Knights’ Amanda Reynolds was named All-OVAC. Honorable Mention goes to Kenna Smith and Miranda Weekley.

Per the Blue Eagles, Maria Tucios was named All-OVAC and Taylor Cline and Dessie Kernan were Honorable Mention.

Congrats to these teams and players.

WVU’s mens basketball team cruised past Mississippi State 107-66 Monday at home. The Mountaineers are ranked 19th among the top 25 by the Associated Press.

Speaking of basketball, Sistersville Winter League is gearing up. This is the final week before teams are drafted. A mere $22 dollars to play, the league plays from Nov. 20th to late February. Money raised dollars for cost of gym and to help pay for refs and the end of the year for our tournament. Really, playing basketball beats sitting around the house flipping through channels. For more information, seek out Kevin Yoho or go to the group’s Sistersville Winter League page on Facebook.

All that’s good news, so I’m awake now.
