Hoder Crowned As Homecoming Queen
Rain could not deny destiny during Friday’s halftime Homecoming coronation.
Senior Courtney Hoder was crowned as the 2016 Homecoming Queen while the runner-up was Hannah Ankrom.
Homecoming is a time when alumni return to the school to reminisce. Homecoming usually includes a week of festivities, including a dance and a sporting event, such as a football game. The homecoming queen is chosen by her fellow students, and she usually is someone who is active in the school and a model of school spirit.
“I am so excited about being this year’s Homecoming Queen,” Hoder said moments after accepting her crown, sash. “I wasn’t expecting this, so I am so thankful.”
Hoder, 17, praised her parents Tim Hoder and Angela Bennett. She is a member of several groups at school.
Members of the court were – Senior queen candidates Hoder, Dani Yonaley, Abigail Fletcher, Devann McCoy, and Hannah Ankrom; Junior princesses Kenna Smith and Asia Keller; Sophomore princesses Josey Jones and JoLee Walton; Freshman princesses Jonaya Staley and Naomi Mathers.
