Sistersville Celebrates Picnic in the Park

Activities begin at noon Sunday

SISTERSVILLE – The annual Picnic in the Park will be held at the city park on Sunday.

Sponsored by the Sistersville Community Service Organization, festivities will open at noon followed by a veteran’s flag ceremony at 1:30 p.m.

Bingo by the Friendly Lions Club will begin at 2 p.m. under the big shelter.

Anyone inclined to go swimming will pay a nominal cost of $1 per person between 12:30 p.m. and 8 p.m.

Food booths, crafts, games and rock climbing are all available to the


Sistersville’s IGA store will be donating free cake and ice cream, according to the Sistersville Community Service Organization.

The Sarah Hayes Band will be performing on the park’s stage between 7 p.m. and 9:30 p.m.

Afterward, a gigantic display of fireworks will light up the sky!

Sistersville Community Service Organization encourages any business or individual to participate in the celebration. No set-up fee is charged for a booth.

Contributions to the fireworks fund can be mailed to the Sistersville Community Service Organization Fireworks Fund at P.O. Box 46, Sistersville, WV 26175, or can be made at the Tyler Star News office, located at 727 Wells Street, Sistersville.
