Tyler Prom Held
MIDDLEBOURNE – There was a coronation on Saturday at Tyler Consolidated High School.
The new Prom Queen is Amber Satterfield, who was crowned by the 2015 Queen Kelsey Bonar. The Prom King is Kordell Stewart.
After the crowning ceremony, Stewart humbly shared his crown with Satterfield’s date, Zach Bonner.
This year’s theme was “A Knight Under the Big Top.”
“Prom was a great success,” said Maggie Fisher, TCHS teacher and junior class advisor who was a key organizer for this year’s prom. “The students were polite and appreciative and on their best behavior.”
Prom photos appear on page A7.
The candidates for Prom Queen were Satterfield, Ariel Fish, Sydney Glover, Brianna Kurfis and Amber Watson.
Prom King candidates were Stewart, Jordan Baker, Zach Bonner, Austin Thompson and Daron Weekley.
The Junior Princesses were Courtney Hoder, Macy Long, Madison West and Danielle Yonaley.
Memories were created within the gymnasium that was decorated like a circus big top. Colorful red and white banners were hung in the air. And there was a hot air balloon gondola. Prom dresses were stylish and classical. Men’s attire too spanned the gamut from the classical tuxedo to colorful outfits that may never fade from the mind’s eye.
“Even though rain moved the walk in indoors, there’s no denying there were wonderful memories made,” Fisher said. “Everywhere you looked there were smiles; the dance floor was packed!”
