Six students injured in Bus, Durango accident
On Oct. 6, 2010, at approximately 3:41 p.m. Tyler County 911 received a call of a two vehicle accident involving a private vehicle and a school bus belonging to Tyler County Board of Education.
The accident ocurred at the north end of Middlebourne at the intersection of Rt. 18 and Old State Road.
Ambulances from Middlebourne, Alma and Sistersville EMS were dispatched to the scene. Of the 29 students and the drivers on the school bus, six children were injured along with the driver of a 2001 Dodge Durango.
The injured persons were taken to Sistersville General Hospital in Sistersville and Wetzel County Hospital in New Martinsville.
The bus sustained minimal damage and the Durango received moderate damage.
The accident was investigated by Tyler County Sheriff’s Office with the assistance of the West Virginia State Police.
The accidents remains under investigation.
