Sixteen defendants appear in court

Sixteen defendants appeared before Judge Mark A. Karl on Monday afternoon on charges brought against them. All defendants were indicted by a grand jury on Oct. 21.

Christopher A. Olszewski, 22, of Hardman St., Middlebourne, appeared on a felony count of possession of a controlled substance (marijuana) with intent to deliver and a count of possession of a controlled substance (heroin) with intent to deliver alleged to have occurred on Aug. 5, 2008.

He entered into a plea of not guilty and his bond was continued.

Olszewski is to return back to court on Dec. 17 at 1:30 p.m.

Colby Justin Acree, 19, of 317 Main St., Middlebourne, appeared facing two felony counts of conspiracy which allegedly occurred on Aug. 5, 2008.

On Nov. 9, Acree posted bond after entering a plea of not guilty to the charge. His bond is continued and he is to return back on Dec. 17 at 1:30 p.m.

Douglas Carson, 50, appeared in front of Karl. In 2004 the defendant was charged and sentenced for failure to pay child support.

When Carson failed to report while on probation, he was apprehended in Florida on a capias warrant. He is currently being housed in the North Central Regional Jail.

He is to return back on Dec. 10 at 1:30 p.m.

Though on the docket, William B. Neff, 36, of Rt. 1 Box 232, Middlebourne, did not appear in court on charge of manufacturing a controlled substance .

According to reports, Neff was recently apprehended in New Martinsville on a felony warrant and is currently being housed in the North Central Regional Jail. Karl stated this is the second time Neff’s probation has been revoked.

Neff is scheduled to return back to court on Dec. 10 at 1:30 p.m.

Joshua L. Hunter, 30, of P. O. Box, 508, Middlebourne, appeared on a felony charge of third-offense driving under the influence of alcohol, a misdemeanor of second-offense driving while revoked for DUI, and a misdemeanor charge of possession of a firearm by a prohibited person to have allegedly occurred on March 28.

Hunter’s bond is continued and he is to return back on Dec. 10 at 1:30 p.m.

Diana S. Ash, 46, of Rt. 1 Box 641, Greenwood, was in court to face one felony count of operating or attempting to operate a clandestine drug laboratory, a felony count of possession of substances to be used in precursor to manufacture methamphetamine, and a felony charge of exposure of children to methamphetamine manufacturing.

She entered into a plea of not guilty and is to return back on Dec. 17 at 1:30 p.m.

Meanwhile, she remains free on bond.

George Ash, 46, or Rt. 1 Box 641, Greenwood, also appeared. He was charged with one felony count of operating or attempting to operate a clandestine drug laboratory, a felony count of possession of substances to be used in precursor to manufacture methamphetamine, and a felony charge of exposure of children to methamphetamine manufacturing. He remains held in the North Central Regional Jail and is to return back on Dec. 10 at 1:30 p.m.

Timothy J. Judge, 28, of 302, Tyler Highway, Sistersville, appeared on a felony charge of breaking and entering a building other than a dwelling and a misdemeanor charge of petit larceny to have allegedly occurred in July.

Judge entered into a plea of not guilty on Nov. 9. Public Defender John Gainer stated to Karl that Judge’s income was too high to qualify for a public defender, therefore, he is retaining Kevin Neiswonger for his attorney at this time.

His bond has been continued and he is to return back on Dec. 17 at 10 a.m.

James Franklin Regiec, 20, of Rt. 1 Box 86B, Glen Easton, W.Va., is facing three felony charges-grand larceny, burglary, and fleeing from a police officer in a vehicle while under the influence of alcohol-and three misdemeanor charges-speeding, driving under the influence of alcohol and and any other drugs, and failure to obey a traffic control device. All crimes are alleged to have occurred on May 16.

His bond is continued and he is to return back on Dec. 17 at 10 a.m.

Samuel Wade, 30, of HC 74 Box 13C, Alma, is charged with one felony count of embezzlement and one felony count of obtaining money by false pretenses to have allegedly occurred on Jan. 29, 2008.

Wade entered into a plea of not guilty on Nov. 9 and posted bond. His bond has been continued and he is to return back on Dec. 17 at 10 a.m.

Jeremiah R. Anderson, 23, of HC 61 Box 55A, Knob Fork, W.Va., is being charged with one felony count of breaking and entering a building other than a dwelling, one felony count of attempted breaking and entering a building other than a dwelling, and two misdemeanor charges of petit larceny and destruction of property to have allegedly occurred on March 7.

Anderson’s attorney, George Cosenza, stated that plea negotiations have not been resolved at this time.

His bond is continued and he is to return back on Dec. 21 at 10 a.m.

Sabastain J. E. Rosenlieb, 19, of 431 North Railroad, Ave., Sistersville, appeared in person on charges brought against him by the grand jury back in October. He is being charged with two felony charges, one of attempted murder and one of malicious assault, as well as one misdemeanor charge of reckless driving to have allegedly occurred on Sept. 9.

His attorney, John Butler, stated to the court that he is prepared to go forward and enter a plea of not guilty on the three count indictment.

Rosenlieb’s bond is continued and is to return back on Dec. 10 at 1:30 p.m.

Brenda D. Shreves, 58, of 1093 Tyler Highway, Sistersville, appeared to face formal arraignment of charges against her. On Sept. 11, she was charged with two felony counts of delivery of a controlled substances, and one felony count of manufacturing of a controlled substances.

With her legal counsel by her side, Shreves entered into a plea of not guilty on each count.

Her bond is continued and she is to return back to court on Dec 17 at 10 a.m.

Joshua T. Jenkins, 27, of Parkersburg, is charged with one felony count of delivery of a controlled substance and one count of possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver to have allegedly occurred on July 12, 2008.

On Monday, he entered into a plea of not guilty and he is to return back on Dec. 17 at 10 a.m.

Jessica Schoolcraft, 22, of 535 Pleasant Hill Drive, Richmond, Va., appeared in court on a felony charge of attempted breaking and entering of a building other than a dwelling to have allegedly occurred on March 7.

She entered into a plea of not guilty and her bond is continued.

Schoolcraft is to return back to court on Dec. 17 at 10 a.m.

Kimberly Rial, 20, of 28 Rose Street, Lot 79, New Martinsville, is being charged with two felony counts of breaking and entering a building other than a dwelling, one felony count of petit larceny and one misdemeanor charge of destruction of property to have allegedly occurred on March 7.

Her bond is continued and she is to return back on Dec. 10 at 1:30 p.m.

Jessica E. Grimes, 29, of 237 Klondike Ave., Sistersville, appeared in court on formal arraignment on three felony counts of breaking and entering a building other than a dwelling and three misdemeanor charges of petit larceny to have allegedly occurred in July.

Grimes entered into a plea of not guilty on the six count indictment.

She remains free on bond and is to continue on Dec. 10 at 1:30 p.m.
